IGNAS BUROKAS On February 1, 2014, surrounded by family and love, Ignas drew his last breath ending a remarkable 92 year journey. His journey began in Lithuania where he spent his childhood. After the Second World War he travelled to England where he met Ursula, the amazing woman whom he spent the next 62 years with. Together with nothing other than two suitcases they travelled to Canada, settling in Winnipeg, beginning another journey together. Ignas, a skilled carpenter by trade, had an incredible work ethic. By hand he put a basement under their North End home. He then furnished this home with some of the most amazing and unique handmade pieces of furniture. Finishing these enormous tasks he went on to build the family cottage at Lundar Beach and an amazing sail boat to go with the cottage. He passed his work ethic and skills onto both his sons. Left behind to celebrate his life, his wife Ursula; sons: Werner (Barbara), grandsons, Matthew, Michael and Christopher; Ralph (Dawn), granddaughters Vanessa (Jon) and Courtney. He was especially blessed when he became a great-grandfather to Charlie and Alex in recent years. Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of Opa's life will be held at a later date.
